Artist take risk: I took risk by using the colors and playing around with all the different shades of blue i could make. I made multiple colors by taking all the blues and even green and having different amounts of white into the colors. I liked mixing the lime green with a lot of white to make it a mint/pastel mint color. The dark blue with a lot of white made it a very blue ugly dark color and i didn't like it because it was so dark and didn't go with how i wanted my artwork to go. At the end i got it to become a pretty ombre blue having a teal to a light blue to a mint color at the bottom. Artist Take Risk:
I use a lot of things from pinterest and get ideas from it and like to put my own little twist on it. I saw a picture of a sunflower and decided to paint the background an ombre blue then put my sunflower in the top right corner. I started writing my quote in acrylic paint, but it was to thick. I had to repaint the entire canvas with another blue ombre coat. Artist develop art making skills:
During this six weeks i developed new skills not only with chalk pastels, but also with drawing and shading. I learned that you can put almost any color of chalk pastels next to each other, you just need to blend it very well. I learned how to actually get into the art and do it how i want it not how others want it. I tried out oil pastels and chalk pastels and saw which ones i draw better with. It turned out that i used chalk pastels on my sunset and oil on my elephant. Artist take risk: I did many different types of the my drawings and used different techniques. I did the chalk on my sunset because it was easy to blend the colors. I used oil pastels on my elephants to make the grey stand out. I tried out colored pencils on the elephant and found out that i didn't like it as much as the others. Artist create original work: I used a picture off of pinterest to use as a reference to draw my elephant and get ideas, i created my own flowers and am doing aztec prints with flowers instead of flowers and leaves like there artwork. After i finsih with my elephant i am going to put in a sunset in the background to show the environment and making it my own art. I did get inspiration from this piece, but i made it into my own piece of artwork. Artist take risk: I took risk by trying out colored pencils for the first time. I felt really unsure about it feeling as if i was not going to be good, but i did try and did my very best for my first time. I have now practiced and gotten much better at the colored pencils. Even though i did not do very good on my first try i still tried and did improve on my colored pencils skills. Artist develop art making skills:
I did the demo with colored pastels and was very confused on how to use the colors and then started messing around with the purples, blue and the white then saw how to create a transition from one color to another and blend them together. I saw the way each of the colors complemented each other and created dimensions and how to shade without looking too dark or too light giving a 3D effect. Artist create original:
I did my man and machine and came up with the idea of it on my own. I looked up pictures on pinterest to get ideas, by looking at some pictures i found what i wanted to do. Even though i got ideas from the internet i made it my own. Artist develop art making skills: When i was doing my rough draft i did not know how to look at the shading and where the light hit on certain things. I asked Mrs.Barnett and she helped me see where the light hit certain parts on my drawing. I learned how to see the different ways light hit things and how to shade them. September 22, 2014:
Artist develop art making skills: I developed art making skills while working on my pinch pot because whenever i came into art one not knowing how to work with clay then with the demos that Mrs.Barnett showed us i learned how to add pieces onto my pinch pot monster, how to create texture and how to get air bubbles out of my clay so my piece would not explode in the kiln. Artist analyze: During our time on working with the man vs machine drawing using black and white i took my time trying to decide what i should do and how i should portray it into my drawing and what message i wanted to send to people viewing my drawing. I planned out my drawing and drew sketches trying to figure out what made me feel like got my message across and what made me happy. Leonardo da Vinci
